(Rising - beginning all over again to learn to soar, with struggling wings, after the death of my mother, (Alice Louise Marie Bronander Hansen), and several other concurrent shattering losses. )
RISING - Faith Flight
"I crumble first, then slowly stretch and rise;
The stirrings flutter fearsome seeking flight;
I gather strength and focus on the skies.
The earth holds white-lipped pitchers leaking lies,
And quenching days with dusty driest night;
I crumble first, then slowly stretch and rise.
Undampened wings, excited, don’t fling back
To yesterday. What wings! They are so light.
I gather strength and focus on the skies.
The wind affects my course, betrays this guise;
Will ever earth and sky-bound seams unite?
I crumble first, then slowly stretch and rise.
A cloud looms dark above me; will I lack
The wisdom for the challenge of my plight?
I gather strength and focus on the skies.
Can it be done? Ask any bird that flies.
Look quickly now, before you miss this sight:
